camp/easter

Been away on camp for a week with the local schools workers and their young people. some of whom are my young people to which is nice.
I took the cafe to it which worked really well as a suppertime activerty I was very. I took loads of games and the wii for the young people to do while they where hanging around in the evening.
I ran baking workshops through the day and then used what we made as the supper food which also worked really well.

the camp itself was great it was wounderful to work with so many gifted youth workers and young people. and it was really really nice to be around people my own age for a while.

did cafe yesterday which was amusing since I was completly out of it soooo tired. i was a completely useless youth worker but the young people understood and so did the volunteers who where fantastic at helping get everything set up.

another amusing thing was that i ended up baby sitting at a friends last min last night the kids where all in bed so it just involved lieing on the couch and watching TV. i haven't babysat for years and years which was what amused me.

today was the easter service being easter sunday that would make sence really. it was a really great service some wounderful symbolisum and great celibration music. Reminds us of how good we have it with God in our lives.

I went out for lunch and am now just hanging around thinking about doing some cleaning.

Giggles

AOP is pritty much done although i didn't get it finished on the day i said i set aside for it but there you go. lucky really since its due tomorrow yikes i am going to get someone down south to hand it in for me hopefully.

last week was a the Methordist youth and lay workers conference. which was great lots of intresting stuff, a few kindred spirits and lots and lots of sillyness. just what i needed. this is not mentioning the swing ball lol.

commers are not the same as full stops hehe

I have had a great time since I last blogged :D and i know everyone is like oh my life miss pesermisum is starting a blog without the doom gloom tiredness stress bit but nar nar nar nar nar i can be possitive sometimes lol.

i have been working on my Anti-oppressive practice essay which is really intresting if really hard. i do need to get it finished tomorrow though so its a no holes bared assult until it is done.

we had the youth club lock in which was fantastic. got to hit young people over the head in the gladiator duel although i was an easy oponant but hey what do you exspect. made pizza from scratch which reminded me of happy memories of ICC and maybe the early days of a relationship that recently ended. and got loads of time to hang out with the young people and chat it was great.

then went home slept till twelve and went back in to cafe hehe how hard core am i! basicly watched a film and let the vol get on with the hard stuff hehe poor vol.

sunday was good although a bit of a blur the yow service this week is gonna be good if your someone in or near penrith then come!

been doing assemblies this week yikes. so not my strong point but have found that i am getting better as the week progresses. still scary.

future week well youth club on friday sat cafe and fair trade ceilhd hope people are aware its the last week of fair trade fortnight this week.
next week we are away to the lay workers conference :-S should be intresting

STRESS!!!

last few weeks have been really stressful! which is life but there you go. went down to DMU for one of them which could have been better concidering the large amount of snow the inapropreate footwear and other clouthing not suited for snow. my cousen put me up on her floor which was great and we had some really great nights out the lectures themselves well went about 50 50 as to good and bad which is okay i guess but all very tiring.
oh lost my purse on the last day as well big stress.
back up and back into work and i got the essay back it did fail which is was exspecting but it failed by more than i was exspecting! this is because they have decided that they in their infant wisdome are not going to make my essays with my dylexica in mind. we will see about that believe me!
this is not mentioning the brocken computer! the one mum sent me without power cables that she later sent my brother with and told him to set up but he didn't so i found out that it was the wrong keybord and i needed a driver for the wireless thingy on my study day arrrrrrrrg.
but now its all sorted have a desk top for the first time in a very long time which is kinda nice.
and i am really looking forward to this week in work.
there have been good things about the past few weeks as well like the new members lunch on sunday it was really nice to see a few of the other people who have joined in the church recently. i should really think of a few more good things but can i be bothered not really.

Dog sitting reflections

as we enter my 2nd or is it 3rd week as a dog sitter i have some thoughts on the process of getting to know the dogs i am looking after.

hehe

its been a good few weeks so far and have a while to go yet i am very tired though which is mainly due not getting into a routeen to begin with we are now in a bit of a routeen which is much better.

they are also starting to listen when i give them a row which means less stress which is good.

have let them both of the lead twice (near home and in broad daylight) the first time was fine with slight naughtyness when other dogs where brought into the equation but only slight which was sorted in minets. the second time was no problem at all though i would not let them off in the dark would scare me to much.

i think it must be much easer to look after them in a cupple though because without easy access to the garden they are quite wearing particualy since the weather is going for muddy at the moment so i am walking them rather than just letting them out in the garden.

but all in all its been nice looking after them so far they are demanding in a good way.

although i think my grils will be glad to get home since they are feeling the strain of being in the cage for a bit to long at a time.

work is good a bit behind because of the routeen thing but getting there.

Penrith in all its glory

so i am back in penrith and have been back for a week now yay.

I have had some fun and games at the start of the week but all sorted now.

Carl and Rachel are away in Patagonia so i am Dog sitting for them but when i reurned on monday the heating in the bridge and their flat was broke so i couldn't stay here and neither could the dogs. i left them in the kennels for an exstra day while it got fixed.

now we are all hunky dory and i am enjoying the central heating while i have it lol.

first week of work has been okay although been a bit strange with all the groups not startig back till next week. you would think i would get more done at these times but it never works like that does it lol.

saying that cafe was great loads of people came and we had the YOW serivce tonight which went really well and i feel i am starting to make some head way in getting to know the church young people.

it snowed 5icnches on wenesday and some of the lakes where so frozen some people went ice skating on them! although the police where not having that hehe. I love that i live in a place where it snows in the winter and you can build snow men its great.

Christmas and so forth

been home for the past two weeks which has been lovley. we have actualy had one of the most relaxed christmases and so nicest christmases i remeber!!

so came down for christophers birthday which was nice although we went to see the day the earth stood still and that was rubbish. then hung out at home putting decorations up and stuff and avoiding the sick people or at least the air around them untill christma came.

we went to the christingal at the mission which was lovley as usal it gets better every year and i don't care what anyone else thinks!!

have spent some time with Ant and his girlfriend Claire with Chris
with Jen and Dan and Aron

went down to see dad although he was stressed because of work I had a nice time and got loads of work done on my essay which was good i wish he would stop worring about weather i had a nice time though.

went to see a really good play that Diana was part of called Well go and see it its at the Appollo although was souly tempted to go next door to see bill baily i was good though.

go back up to Penrith Tomorrow and am really happy about that i am so looking forward to work you would not beleive i have missed it loads.

Past and Future

Its been a mad few weeks but then I always say that don't I? I guess I lead a mad life but then who doesn't.

Well since I last posted a few thing have happened we all went down to the youth work conference (or is it across Geography never my stronge point that is unless you count knowing how glashers work) which was good. had a bit of a spiritual renancence when i was there which was great. Although I didn't get much out of it on the youth work side of things but then i guess when i have a good relationship with god then my Youth work will get better.

then this week holy has come to visit what has be been great really nice to see her and have some time to catch up and have a good girly giggle just like old times. its nice having friends that when you see even if its after ever such a long time you can pick up where you left off. I am very blessed!!

Ikea

well i just got back from Ikea which is always fun. love shoping in Ikea it is so well worked out. Jean and i went today and i bought a boat load of stuff. including some dvd shelves and book shelves the ironic thing is even though i bought two dvd sheelves i still do not have enough room for all my dvds so i will have to go back at some point and buy some more hehe all gun and games.

i also bought a guest bed for when friends and family come and stay so friends and family get in touch soon i would love to host you!!! two bedside tables a load of storiged stuff some picture frams and a dinning room chair i was going to get 6 but the onse i wanted where sold out so i only got the display model but i got a discount on that so yay.

now for the fun process of putting it all together and up yay

heater brocken its cold!!!

Chris has come to stay with me through half term which is great although am getting quite tired now.

and the hall heater has brocken about half way through the week so the flat is freezing.

but we are perservering with blankits and hot water bottles gonna miss him when he goes home.

made my first controbution to the seminars for my Masters today feeling quite frecked out by the whole thing although i think i will get better at them.

another year over

well it was my birthday on friday so that me hit 26 i really don't get why people freck out about getting older i know some people who have hit 26 and gotten completely depressed.

so since my birthday last year a lot has happend that i never imagined would happen. if you had told me I would have started a MA in youth and community work and I would have moved to the lake districked i would have laughed. i would also have laughed if you said that i would be single right now. thoughs are the three most megar things that have happend in the last year but both thing i think have actualy worked out for the best.

so what are my hopes for the year ahead

i want to excell at my job
i want to do fantasticly at my MA
And i want to be happy and content in life in Genral

well i might not manage the last one all the time but i think i will cope with the other two. :D

the wounder of the fist day back at work

life is good at the moment :) but its been a long week and a bit.
did the first block week at de montford last week and was completely overwhelmed by all the information and stuff that was throun at us. starting to work it out though now.

ant and chris gave me a cold which stared coming on on friday and basicly nocked me out sunday monday its very vexing when the colds strick on your days of but what can you do.

saturday was a bit trying because two lots of volunteers didn't show but the one who was here in the morning stuck around so it was okay.

now am getting ready for the reast of the week.

had the AA out this morning to start my car and it was found that i had to buy a new battery which i exspected really but would have prefurd not to really.

got to go to the cash and carry tomorrow really praying hard that my pay goes in without a hitch.

its been a bit of a runaway life recently

well hello again its been a while. but then i am having trouble getting internet into my new flat so i am stealing a few minuets before tiddlywinks (which i will tell you about in a min) to make a quick update and show that i am still living and breathing.

so i have moved down to penrith which was much fun and games since i ended up having to spend the first night sleeping on the floor of my new flat since my furiture was still somewhere in scotland. but it was all fine

although it is now 3 weeks on and i am still unpacking!! i don't remeber it tacking this long he last time.

the start of my new job as youth cafe worker at the bridge is all alittle hazy but when sn't starting a new job like that all the people and different things you have to learn. buti think it is going okay so far.

i do two cafe sessions which are called the santuary on wemesdays which is for young people who get a hard time at school and saturday cafe which is just for everyone.

then i help wit a mum and todds group on friday morning and i do a youth club friday evening oh and an after hours group in the cafe after the youth club.

i am also part of the youth cell groups and am helping with a youth alpha no one fall of their seats i have not been converted its just what i do.

and finaly i help with a schools lunch club on a thursday

so quite a busy week

i also get to do alot of cooking and cleaning and stuff like currently am experimenting with soups.

soon we are going to be starting a gardening poject and the fruit and veg from that will come into the kichen where i will make it into soup but until then i have to use the supermarket like everone else.

life is genrally good i am injoy the new place so far

right getting a bit fed up of packing and getting ready to go. well really i am ready and i wanna go but i guess i only have a few days left so i should stop being so impatent.

so sunday was sad saying goodbye although it was quite good fun we had a session on the guitar hero possibly the best game ever and went ice skating although had one person in the first aid room because they hit their head on the ice ouch.

then drove down to penrith yesterday and got my police check under way for the bridge and started also got to met up with some of the young people in the eve which was great fun.

found a flat today and am moving down on the 12th which is very exsiting can't wait although i have to get everything packed away before then. have a lot of work to do.

well i am very blessed

the car failed its mot but i am blessed God has sorted me out and I know i can move house now.

i just need to find a home to live in and i will be fine.

woop greece

Linda and I have just got back from Corfu it was brill we lay by the pool most of the time and worked on not going home pealy waly. we also went into Corfu town which was very hot. but the best bit was one evening when we went through to a little local greek festival and joined in we where two of the few brits there it was a truly greek thing no pretence no pretending just people being people and it was fab. had a go at the dancing which was so hard.
But have been very blessed this past week and have come back completly relaxed and happy have so much to do to get things ready for my new job and leaving my current one in as good a state as i can.:D

although am all numb from the dentice and Laura has moved in today which is nice.
